Here's what you should take a closer look at when you purchase a certified pre-owned vehicle.
Body Condition
You need to examine the outside of the vehicle for any issues. Maybe you can live with scratches or small dents, but you want to be sure that there aren't any larger cosmetic issues that could cost you money down the line. Misaligned panels that were the work of a sloppy body shop or rust that could cause more damage later are definitely not things you want to find on a pre-owned car.
The Interior
Obviously, you want to make sure that the interior is just as pristine as the exterior. Make sure that the seats are all intact and that there are no rips or tears. Check for water damage and make sure that the roof isn't sagging, a sure sign of damage.
The Tires
It's also a good idea to look at the tires. Are all four a matching set? Do they look like they are wearing down evenly? Is the tread depth too shallow to offer the traction that you need?
The Glass
Make sure that there are no cracks or other damage to the windshield or windows. These small issues can easily result in a larger crack that requires an expensive repair.
